About.
Lee hails from a musical family. His grandfather, Simon, had a doctorate in music and taught classical piano and voice in Chicago and Los Angeles. Lee was obsessed with music from age 4 after seeing someone play guitar on TV. After that, Lee constantly nagged his father for lessons. He was presented with an accordion at age 6 after being told he was too small for guitar. Though not ideal, it was a start. Lee quickly became quite accomplished and by his teens, he was gigging on piano, keyboards and guitar, writing songs, and singing. Playing in myriad of bands as well as solo, Lee has performed at many of the famous LA area clubs – The Roxy, The Whiskey, The Troubadour, Echoplex, Pappy & Harriet’s…
For Lee, it’s all about the song. (He even met his wife due to a song he wrote.) He counts among his influences Elvis Costello, Neil Finn, Aimee Mann, John Hiatt, Leonard Cohen and Todd Rundgren. He writes both on guitar and his grandfather’s 100+ year-old Baldwin piano, his dearest possession.
Lee is originally from Los Angeles and currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife and their very, very old dog. All songs were recorded in his home studio with Lee playing all the instruments.
